Milkbug in the Community

Milkbug is more than just a business, we uphold our honesty and integrity and by working with a number of local communities support raising breastfeeding awareness.

Whilst it is our mission to set the trend in breastfeeding fashion, we recognise the importance of supporting local communities in their efforts to raise breastfeeding awareness through events and support groups. We know from experience that a new mum needs all the support she can get to help her through the first few months of having a new born.

We are passionate about helping where we can in causes that support mother & babies. If you need help in events that are related to mother and babies please contact us.

For us 'in the community' is not about advertising but about making a difference and raising awareness.

These are just some of the ways that we have been supporting the local community:

  • May 2009    We donated a 'star prize' for a raffle at the Rye Children's Centre in Sussex as part of breastfeeding week. The centre is raising awareness of breastfeeding as rates are quite low in the area. The lucky winner treated herself to a new Grecian Breastfeeding dress

  • May 2009    Milkbug supported local community midwives in Sheffield in their efforts to raise breastfeeding awareness through a number of large events. We offered the local mums a number of discounts distributed through goody bags, which has been well received.

  • June 2009    We are proud to be supporting the breastfeeding calender project by donating a number of nursing bras and other donations. We will post more details here once the calender is ready.

  • Oct 2009    We are supporting the breastfeeding support group based in the Early Year centre in Folkestone, Kent who are trying to recruit more members to thier group. We have a special offer for all thier members in an effort to help entice more members to the group

  • Nov 2009    The health centre in Creebrige, SW Scotland is hosting a one day event and inviting mums to be in the area to learn about the benefits of breastfeeding as take up rate in the area is low. We are providing a range of offers and donating to the Raffle. We will also be producing a guide that explains how different types of breastfeeding clothes can make feeding in public less daunting.

  • June 2010   For breastfeeding awareness week this year we have got really involved with local communities. We have donated clothes  for a fashion show and a raffle prize to Southwark PCT, Witham Breastfeeding Support Group has a fun day this week and we have donated nursing bras and raffle prizes, Ascot NHS has a party planned for their mums and we donated for this party. We are also attending an event being held for the midwives and breastfeeding counsellors in Hillingdon to promote the help we provide local mums and we will also be unveiling a new direction for us.

  • Sept 2010  Milkbug voucher donated to the bundle jungle charity auction, a pregnancy and parenting forum

  • November 2010 Donation of breastfeeding clothes to a NCT breastfeeding support group in West Sussex, so they could use them as props to encourage women to breastfeed and show them how easy it is to do in public.

  • Jan 2011 We donated a number of breastfeeding top samples to a NCT group in West Sussex so that they could show their mums that there was a way to feed in public discreetly therefore encourage new mums to breastfeed.

  • Ongoing    We support www.babywiggles.co.uk - a website which is a one stop site for all your family needs. We support them by helping them raise awareness of thier website
